SERIES AT A GLANCE: The Flying Squirrels will aim for their third straight win when they take on the Bowie Baysox in game two of a three-game series at Prince George's Stadium tonight. Last night, Squirrels starter Justin Fitzgerald tossed seven scoreless innings and Daniel Mayora delivered an RBI double in the top of the sixth that plated Gary Brown with the game's lone run as Richmond topped Bowie 1-0 in a pitchers' duel. Fitzgerald (6-7) earned the win and Richmond relievers Chris Wilson and Brett Bochy combined to toss two innings of scoreless relief, with Bochy earning his 12th save in 17 chances. Baysox starter Eddie Gamboa (4-2) took the loss despite allowing just four hits and one earned run in six innings pitched. Richmond is 34-35 all-time against Bowie and the club is 15-20 all-time at Prince George's Stadium. The two teams will meet 24 times in 2012, 10 times in Bowie and 14 times in Richmond. Richmond won two out of three games between the two clubs in Bowie April 9-11 and the two teams split a four-game series at The Diamond from April 30 through May 3. The Flying Squirrels won three out of four from the Baysox at The Diamond from May 10 through May 13. The teams split a four-game series in Bowie May 21 through May 24. Following this three-game series, the two teams will meet again at The Diamond for a three-game set August 10 through August 12.

TODAY'S PITCHERS: LHP Chris Gloor vs. LHP Rick Zagone Gloor: Makes his twenty-fifth appearance and his sixth start of the season for the Flying Squirrels tonight. In his last start, Gloor allowed a career-high eight hits and four runs, two of which were earned, along with one walk and three strikeouts in 5.2 innings pitched against Akron Thursday. He took the loss, his fi rst since joining the Flying Squirrels rotation on June 28, in Richmond's 4-3 setback. Tonight's game will be Gloor's fifth career appearance and first start against Bowie. He is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA against the Baysox. Earlier this season, Gloor tossed 19.2 scoreless innings (May 1 through June 15), the longest scoreless innings streak by a Squirrels pitcher in 2012. Last season, Gloor pitched for three different Giants affiliates, Advanced-A San Jose, the Rookie-Ball AZL Giants and Short-Season A Salem-Keizer. He posted a combined record of 3-1 with one save and a 3.34 ERA in 18 appearances.

Gloor owns a 16-6 record with three saves and a 2.57 ERA in 103 career minor league appearances, including 12 starts. The Bay Shore, NY native was selected by the Giants in the 17th round of the 2009 June Draft out of Quinnipiac University.

Zagone: Makes his twenty-fi rst appearance and his sixteenth start of the season tonight. Zagone opened the season with Advanced-A Frederick, where he went 3-1 with a 2.91 ERA in 13 appearances, including nine starts. He was promoted to Triple-A Norfolk in mid-May, where he posted a 1-0 record with a 0.00 ERA in two appearances, including one start. Zagone was transferred to Bowie in late June and he has compiled a 2-2 record with a 3.48 ERA in five starts with the Baysox. In his last start, Zagone allowed four hits and two runs, only one of which was earned, along with three walks and one strikeout in seven innings pitched against Binghamton Thursday. He received a no-decision in Bowie's 4-3 setback. The southpaw split the 2011 campaign between Advanced-A Frederick and Bowie, and he posted a combined record of 8-8 with a 4.33 ERA in 26 appearances, including 23 starts. In four career appearances, including three starts, against the Flying Squirrels, Zagone is 0-2 with a 3.00 ERA. Zagone boasts a career record of 36-31 with a 3.88 ERA in 115 appearances, including 100 starts. He was selected by Baltimore in the sixth round of the 2008 June Draft out of the University of Missouri.

SHUTOUTS: Last night's 1-0 triumph over Bowie was Richmond's 11th shutout win this season, the most of any team in the Eastern League. The Flying Squirrels have been involved in 17 games that resulted in shutouts in 2012, which leads the league. New Britain is second in the circuit in shutout wins with 10 and Binghamton (6-9) and Altoona (5-10) have each been involved in 15 shutouts this season, which is tied for second in the league behind Richmond.

JULY FIREWORKS: Richmond's offense has thrived throughout July. As a team, the Flying Squirrels are batting .299 (223-for-745) with 21 home runs and 110 RBIs in 22 games, making it the club's most productive month offensively. The Flying Squirrels are 16-6 during this stretch. In April, Richmond batted .255 as a team with 11 home runs and 83 RBIs in 24 games and posted a 12-12 mark.

In May, the Flying Squirrels batted .236 with 10 home runs and 90 RBIs in 30 games and went 13-17. In June, Richmond batted .241 as a team with 17 home runs and 88 RBIs in 27 games and went 12-15.

WALK-OFF HOME RUNS: Sunday's 4-3 win over Akron was the fifth game in team history in which Richmond won on a walk-off home run. The previous four wins that came via walk-off home run for Richmond are as follows: 8/11/2010 vs. New Hampshire (Brandon Belt HR, Bot. of 14th), 5/12/2011 vs. Harrisburg (Johnny Monell HR, Bot. 11th), 7/5/2011 vs. Trenton (Francisco Peguero Grand Slam, Bot. 7th in game two of a doubleheader) and 4/27/2012 vs. New Britain (Juan Perez HR Bot. 13th). Sunday's game ended with back-to-back home runs from Tommy Joseph and Mark Minicozzi, Richmond's first walk-off win on back-to-back HRs.
