Flu Shots Available At Yard Sale

MARION, Ill. - Flu and pneumonia shots will be available at the Southern Illinois Miners Fall Festival and Yard Sale, presented by River Radio, at Rent One Park on Saturday, Oct. 18. VNA TIP Homecare will host a flu clinic at the Yard Sale. In addition to the flu and pneumonia vaccines, they will offer informational brochures.

Flu vaccines will be $30 and pneumonia vaccines will be $45, and VNA TIP Homecare accepts insurances such as Medicare Part B and several others. People curious about whether their insurance will be accepted can call the Flu Coordinator at 618-997-2354 ext. 240. In addition, VNA TIP Homecare will also be providing free blood pressure checks to anyone attending the Festival. While the Yard Sale and Fall Festival will run from 8 a.m.-2 p.m., VNA TIP Homecare will be at the event from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Everyone is invited to come to Rent One Park and shop. In addition to discounted Miners souvenir merchandise, shoppers will be able to find various treasures from local businesses and individuals. This family event will have something for everyone. Kids can play in the Golden Corral Fun Zone and meet the mascots, and college football will be on the video board.

If you would like to reserve space on the Rent One Park concourse to sell your merchandise or used goods, registration is $25 for a 15-by-15-foot space and $35 for a 20-by-20-foot space. Tables are not provided but may be rented for $15. The deadline for registration is Oct. 15 at 5 p.m. Full payment of registration fee is required for participants to secure their spaces. Participants can begin setting up at 6:45 a.m. No food and beverage, alcohol, tobacco or firearms can be sold at the Yard Sale.
