Florida Panthers Re-Sign Jason Garrison to Two-Year Deal

(Sunrise, Fla.)... Florida Panthers General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the club has agreed to terms with D Jason Garrison on a two-year contract extension.
"We are very pleased to have reached a contract agreement with Jason," said Tallon. "Over the last two years, Jason has taken great strides in his development and through his hard work and determination, he earned a spot on our roster. We look forward to his continued growth and contributions to our team."
Garrison, 25, played in 39 games with Florida last season recording eight points (2-6-8) and 23 PIM, with a plus-5 rating. The 6-foot-2, 220-pound defenseman also appeared in 38 games for Rochester (AHL) last year scoring three goals with 16 assists and 33 PIM. Garrison made his National Hockey League debut on Oct. 25, 2008 in St. Louis.
A native of White Rock, British Columbia, Garrison played his college hockey at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he registered 29 points (9-20-29) in 87 games over three seasons. After college, the undrafted Garrison was signed by the Panthers as a free agent on April 2, 2008.
