October 5, 2005 - NBA G League (G League)
Florida Flame News Release

FORT MYERS, Fla., October 5, 2005 - Due to the overwhelming response in Fort Myers for the "Hot Flashes" Dance Team, the Florida Flame, presented by Century 21 Sunbelt Realty, will be hosting a second "Hot Flashes" wine and cheese information meeting on Tuesday, October 18 in Naples.

The event will take place from 6:30-8:00 p.m. and be hosted by Flame owners Mr. and Mrs. Walter Blankley and Mr. and Mrs. John Lyden of Quail Creek. Registration for prospective "Hot Flashes" will be from 6:30-7:00 p.m. with the wine and cheese information meeting scheduled from 7:00-8:00 p.m. To reserve a spot and receive details and directions to the event, please contact Florida Flame Director of Game Entertainment Amiee Turner at (239) 561-8130 or aturner@floridaflame.com .

The "Hot Flashes" are the newest addition to this season's Florida Flame experience. Directed by Amiee Turner, the "Hot Flashes" are an on-court performance and community goodwill ambassador group of fabulous women, ages 49 and up, who enjoy life and new experiences. Membership in the "Hot Flashes" includes performance at 10 Florida Flame home games at Germain Arena, several social events throughout the season, as well as community outreach opportunities representing the Flame as goodwill ambassadors throughout the Southwest Florida community.

"The ‘Hot Flashes' are loosely based on the Miami Heat's ‘Golden Oldies'," said Turner. "However, we have chosen to take advantage of the remarkably hot women in our area in their fifties and sixties, although we won't discriminate against any hottie if she's over a certain age."

The "Hot Flashes" have received a large response from the Fort Myers community since their debut this past summer. More than 40 women attended the "Hot Flashes" Meet and Greet on September 8 at Blue Coyote and 50 attendees were on hand at the "Hot Flashes" first practice at The Omni Club in Fort Myers on September 18. The "Hot Flashes" have already been featured in the Fort Myers News-Press and on television with the WINK-TV news team.

"We have women from Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Bonita and Estero and I can't wait to discover the ladies in Naples, particularly given the central location of Germain Arena," said Turner. "It really is about having fun cheering on the Flame, getting to know some other dynamic ladies and taking advantage of this unique opportunity to shake your groove thing center court!"

The Florida Flame open their 2005-06 season on Friday, November 25 versus the Roanoke Dazzle at Germain Arena. For season, individual game, or group ticket information call (877) FLAME-TIX or visit www.floridaflame.com.
