Flores inspires Flash to the playoffs
BEAUMONT, Texas - Edgar Flores continued with his rampant scoring ways as the Rio Grande Valley Flash defeated the Texas Strikers in overtime by score of 11-10 Saturday night at Ford Arena.
Flores scored four times in the victory to lead the Flash on offense, including a short-handed goal that took his personal tally to 16 goals on the season.
The Texas Strikers (3-12) were lead by Yuri Flores, who contributed five goals including a restart goal that tied the game at 10 which sent it into overtime.
Midfielder Juan Jalomo had the game winning goal in overtime to end the scoring for the Flash, which clinch second place for the Flash.
With the win, the Flash (12-4) clinched second place in the Central Division of the PASL earning a play off date with the Dallas Sidekicks.
The Flash will have a best 2-of-3 series versus the Dallas Sidekicks starting on Sunday, February 24 at State Farm Arena with the kickoff set for 3:05 pm.
