Flight To Honor Area Tenn NATP Winners Saturday At Game

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 13, 2003 – The Huntsville Flight will recognize area high school girls and boys who were either Gold, Silver or Bronze winners as part of the National Athletic Testing Program (NATP). The recognition will take place during the Flight’s nationally televised 7:30 p.m. game Saturday against Mobile.

Sponsored by the Huntsville Hospital Sports Center, the athletes will be recognized for their outstanding performances that are based on the nationÂ’s premier collegiate and professional testing protocols. THE NATP is a functional testing and evaluation tool and a complimentary service provided by the Huntsville Hospital Sports Center and is available to all local high schools.

The NATP identifies the functional strengths and weaknesses of athletes by testing four major components. Each athleteÂ’s score are compared with the other athletes from across the country competing in the same sport position and at the same grade level.

The awards are as follows:

The Bronze Award – goes to the top male and female athletes at each participating high school.

The Silver Award – goes to the top 10 male and female athletes for all schools tested in this area.

The Gold Award – goes to any male or female athlete who scores in the Top 100 nationally.

The girlÂ’s winners include: Erin Clymer (Gold, Silver), Genoah Collins (Silver, Bronze), Jamie Edwards (Gold, Silver), Lesley Hanson (Silver), Shiho Hoshino (Silver), Deborah Jaynes (Silver), Christie McKee (Silver, Bronze), Paige Pettaway (Bronze), Shareta Rainey (Silver), Tamora Reedus (Gold, Silver), Rachel Shanks (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Chantai Simms (Silver) and Laura West (Bronze).

The winners in the boys division were: Spencer Anderson (Gold, Silver), Ryan Barnard (Bronze), Ryan Clardy (Bronze), Sheddrick Henderson (Gold, Silver), Michael Jamar (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Brandon Johnson (Gold, Silver), Tony Kather (Bronze), Robert Malone (Silver), Irving McGuire (Gold, Silver), Charles Parker (Silver), Carlton Rice (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Casey Stafford (Gold, Silver, Bronze), Harold Stewart (Silver), Mark Van Gerwen (Bronze) and Will Wise (Bronze).
