Flight Makes First Training Camp Cuts

HUNTSVILLE, AL – (November 13, 2003) – Huntsville Flight coaches Ralph Lewis and Michael Born made the team’s first cuts of the 2003 training camp today. Among the five players released was forward Bakari Hendrix, who averaged 11.3 points per game in 50 games for the Flight last season. Also released were forwards Lovell Craig and Jamario Moon, and centers Duke Freeman-McKamey and Rashid Hardwick.

Craig, 6-9, 210 pounds from Troy State, was one of the players allocated to the Flight by the NBDL before the start of training camp. Freeman-McKamey, 6-10, 240 pounds, was the FlightÂ’s 10th round draft pick in last weekÂ’s NBDL Draft. Hardwick, 7-0, 221 pounds, was selected in the 9th round of the draft. Moon, 6-8, 200 pounds, was picked up in the 8th round.

The five cuts leave the Flight with 12 players on the roster as the team prepares for next TuesdayÂ’s preseason game at Purdue. The coaches will have to cut the final roster to 10 next Thursday, November 20.
