Flick Loaned to Manitoba

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The South Carolina Stingrays, proud affiliate of the National Hockey League's Washington Capitals, have announced Tuesday that forward Rob Flick has signed a professional tryout agreement with the Manitoba Moose of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Flick is an AHL veteran, having played 279 games over five seasons with the Rockford Ice Hogs, Providence Bruins and Portland Pirates. The London, Ont. native has accumulated 70 points (38 goals, 32 assists) during his time in the AHL.

This season Flick is leading the Stingrays in scoring with 59 points (29 goals, 30 assists) through 59 games. The 6-foot-2, 210-pound forward is also first on the team with 203 shots on goal and a +17 rating.

During the 2015-16 season, Flick had 21 points (seven goals, 14 assists) during 60 regular season games with Portland before playing in five playoff games with the Pirates and scoring a goal and an assist.

Flick was originally selected in the fourth round (120th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2010 NHL Draft.

Before turning pro, the forward played three seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors from 2008-11. Flick suited up for 181 career OHL games, scoring 99 points (46 goals, 53 assists).

South Carolina will continue their schedule this week with a three-game series against the Atlanta Gladiators. The stretch begins Wednesday night in Atlanta at 7:05 before the two teams return to North Charleston for the next two contests. Both Friday and Saturday's games at the North Charleston Coliseum begin at 7:05 p.m.
