Lehigh Valley IronPigs News Release

(Allentown, Pa.) - The first 3,000 fans 18 and older will receive a commemorative fleece blanket giveaway presented by Service Electric Cable TV & Communications as part of the Opening Night festivities on Thursday, April 4 at Coca-Cola Park. The 2013 Lehigh Valley IronPigs season originates at 7:05 p.m. against the Syracuse Chiefs with all gates opening extra-early at 5 p.m. for a pre-game Happy Hour featuring $1 hot dogs and $2 domestic drafts until 6 p.m.

Butch Patrick, who starred as Eddie Munster on the hit 1960s TV show The Munsters, will throw out the season's initial ceremonial first pitch. The Munsters originally aired weekly in black-and-white on CBS from 1964 to 1966 although grew in popularity during decades of syndication. This popularity warranted a spin-off series, as well as several films for both television and theatrical release.

Two brand-new seating areas, the "Hot Corner" and the "Bacon Strip" have been added to Coca-Cola Park this season, offering IronPigs fans the most unique and distinctive seating and hospitality areas in all of Minor League Baseball.

The Hot Corner features 48 swivel-style seats across two rows directly in front of the PPL Picnic Patio and includes great amenities such as in-seat food and beverage service as well as drink rail counters, allowing for a more comfortable viewing and dining experience. Hot Corner tickets are $20 per person.

The bi-level Bacon Strip beyond right field's "home run alley" includes 75 bar stool seats in the first row and an additional 52 stadium seats on the second level. Both rows of seating include the added comfort of drink rail counters for food and beverages. Bacon Strip tickets are $10 per person.

In addition to the fleece blanket giveaway, numerous other festivities are planned for Opening Night, including:

Happy Hour from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. featuring $2 domestic drafts and $1 hot dogs in the AT&T Plaza. An appearance by Butch Patrick - one of the stars of the 1960s hit TV show The Munsters - who will throw out the game's ceremonial first pitch. The debut of the IronPigs drumline, the Designated Hitters, performing in the parking lot and also during pre-game festivities. A pre-game concert featuring, "The Allentown Hobo Band" in the AT&T Plaza. Heroes Night will allow fans the opportunity to honor the local police, firefighters, EMS personnel, and military members who serve and protect the Lehigh Valley and the entire nation, in a pre-game on-field ceremony. As part of the Heroes Night activities, the Color Guard ceremony will be performed. Formal introductions of both the Lehigh Valley IronPigs and the Syracuse Chiefs in a pre-game ceremony.
