Rio Grande Valley Flash News Release

HIDALGO, Texas- Only two games behind Central Division leaders Dallas Sidekicks and half game behind the Chicago Mustangs, the Rio Grande Valley Flash are looking to make up ground as they head to the final stretch of the regular season.

The upcoming match for the Flash is against Real Phoenix on Friday night at State Farm Arena will feature another addition to the roster that played in top tier of the Mexican Soccer League.

Hector Nicanor, a veteran defenseman born in Mexico that played in the Mexican Primera Division for Club Morelia and Monterrey in the mid 90's.

Head Coach Mariano Bollella said "Nicanor is defender that brings a lot to the table. His professionalism and qualities are things that I hope that our young defenders can learn heading into the stretch run as we hope to make a push into the post-season."

Three of the last five regular season games will be on the road for the Flash and have two more divisional games, the key one being at home versus the Chicago Mustangs on February 15.

Bollella added, "The road games have been of mixed results, but I hope that the addition of Nicanor will help bridge that gap that separates us from second place."
