Flash Get Back on Track with Win Over Stampede

The Utah Flash (11-10) executed their game plan against the Idaho Stampede (8-16) in tonight's win (101-87). The Flash held maintained the lead only losing it once in the first quarter, with the largest lead being 30 points in the third quarter.

The Flash outscored the Stampede 25-17 during the first quarter. The Flash were lead by Tony Gaffney with six points in the first quarter. The Flash led 59-37 going into the second half, outscoring the Stampede once again 34-20.

Although the Stampede outscored the Flash 27-22 in the third quarter, the Flash maintained a solid 17 point lead (81-64).

The Flash cruised to a final score of 101-87. Dupree, Gaffney and Sy all led the Flash with 16 points apiece. Costner led in rebounds with 11. Wheeler was the Stampede's leading scorer with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Sy, who is on assignment from the Atlanta Hawks, also had two rebounds and two steals. Nkem Ojougboh led the Flash with three blocks.

The Utah Flash will host the Austin Toros tomorrow night at 7:00 p.m. at the UCCU Events Center in Orem, Utah. The matchup against the Toros will be nationally televised on Versus. Tickets are still available by calling (801) 434-HOOP (4667).
