Flash earn first Road Win
ROCKFORD, Illinois - the Rio Grande Valley Flash earned their first road win of the season by defeating the Rockford Rampage by a score of 3-2 at Victory Sports Complex on Saturday night.
With the victory, the Flash improved to 4-3 on the season while Rockford falls to 5-4 on the season.
The Flash would fall behind early in the game when Elvir Kafedzik scored an early goal to give the Rampage an early 1-0 lead.
Robson de Souza would score an unassisted equalizing goal three minutes later which would make it a 1-1 game. Then the Rampage responded with another goal from Admir Ljeljak which made it a 2-1 early through the first quarter.
Edgar Flores scored the final goal of the first quarter which made it a 2-2 game.
Both teams went scoreless in the second and third periods which made for a thrilling last period of play.
The Flash would get a game winning goal from de Souza with over two minutes left in the game and held on for the first road victory of the season for the Flash.
The Flash continue their four game road trip with an in-state trip to Dallas, to take on the Sidekicks after the new year on January 3 at the Allen Event Center with the kickoff at 7:30 pm.
The next home game for the Flash will be on Sunday, January 20 when they will host the Dallas Sidekicks at State Farm Arena.
