Utah Flash News Release

RENO, Nev.- A game that saw each team hold a double-digit lead, seven technical fouls and 111 free-throw attempts fell Reno's way on Sunday, as the Bighorns outlasted the Utah Flash, 110-105, to complete the opening-weekend sweep in the Reno Events Center.

Patrick Ewing, Jr. led five Bighorns in double figures on Sunday, recording 28 points to complement 11 rebounds and six assists. Ewing finished 15-of-17 from the charity stripe for a Reno squad that shot 74.1 percent (43-of-58) from the line on the day.

The Bighorns (2-0) ran out to a quick 8-0 lead and led by as many as 16 in the first period. But the Flash (0-2) would fire back in the second, outscoring Reno 31-22 in the period to tie the score at the break, 50-50. In that second quarter, Head Coach Eric Musselman and point guard Aaron Miles were ejected after being handed two technical fouls apiece.

In the second half, the lead changed hands four times, including a swing that pushed Utah ahead by 10. In the second half, though, Ewing scored 18 points and Mo Charlo kicked-in 12 to push the 'Horns to the victory.

The Flash were led by a 27-point effort by Kevin Kruger, who connected on 16-of-18 tries from the free-throw line. Orien Greene hit three three-point attempts on his way to 19 points. Andre Ingram chipped in 18 for the Flash.

The Flash continue on the road next weekend when they go to play a weekend series with the New Mexico Thunderbirds. The Flash will play their first home game on Friday December 3 against the Austin Toros. Tickets are still available and can be purchased by calling 801-434-4667.
