Flash Can't Stop Stampede

BOISE, Idaho - The Stampede shot 62 percent from the field to secure their second win of the season 118-94 over the Utah Flash (4-5). The Stampede (2-7) took the lead with an Eric Boateng layup 27 seconds into the first quarter and never relinquished the lead.

Salim Stoudamire had 19 points to lead the Stampede, which had eight players scoring double digits. New additions Antoine Walker (13 points, five rebounds, five assists) and Luke Babbit (16 points, five rebounds) aided the Stampede bench, while Seth Tarver and Luke Jackson (15 points apiece) keyed the scoring from the starting five. The Stampede made 30-of-33 free throws, and have now made 89.6 percent (52-of-58) of their free throws in the last two games.

Andre Ingram led the Flash with 21 points. Ryan Thompson pitched in 16 points in his first game with the Flash after coming back from a foot injury, and Charles Garcia also scored 16 points. The Flash struggled from the floor only connecting on 42-percent of their shots, and 59-percent of their free throws.

The two teams will meet again tomorrow night, and the Flash will have the services of their leading scorer Orien Greene who served a one game suspension for an altercation in Tuesday's game vs. Erie. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Qwest Arena.
