September 16, 2010 - NBA G League (G League)
Utah Flash News Release

PROVO, Sept. 16, 2010 - The Utah Flash, the NBA Development League affiliate of the Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks, will be conducting an open tryout on October 16 at The XSI Factory in Lehi, Utah.

Over the past three years several participants have made the cut and come to Flash training camp. With league approval, at least one player from the open tryout can be selected for an opportunity to be on the Flash opening day roster. Utah head coach Kevin Young can bring up to 17 players to training camp and opening day rosters will be trimmed to 12 players.

"Providing players a chance to develop their skills and talents is what the NBA Development League is all about," Young said. "During our open tryouts we look for players that will develop those talents, but also help us win a championship."

"As we analyze the players at the open tryout, we are looking to see how each player would fit in our organization," Young said.

Players should arrive at The Factory, 4425 North Thanksgiving Way (I-15 Exit 284), by 9:30 a.m. on Oct. 16. Workouts begin at 10:00 a.m. Players will compete in skills and conditioning drills prior to dividing into teams for several game-type scrimmages.

Interested players should complete a registration form, as well as a player release and eligibility form. Both are available at utahflash.com or can be picked up at the Flash front office at 5017 Edgewood Dr. in Provo. Players that register early should remit a cashier's check for $150 made payable to the Utah Flash. Day of camp registrants will pay $175 by either cash or cashier's check. Every player will be provided a workout jersey to keep.
