Flames Recall Centre Ben Street

Calgary, AB -- The Calgary Flames announced today that they have recalled centre Ben Street from the Abbotsford Heat of the American Hockey League.

Street is in his first full season with the Abbotsford Heat where he is leading the team in scoring with 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in 44 games. He has played 151 career AHL games netting 51 goals and 60 assists for 111 points. Street joined the Flames organization after signing as a free agent on July 2, 2012.

The Flames have placed centre Mikael Backlund (Grade 2 MCL sprain, 4-6 weeks) and goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff (Grade 1 MCL sprain, seven days - retroactive to February 5th) on injured reserve. Flames have activated defenseman Anton Babchuk while centre Michael Cammalleri remains day-to-day (hip flexor) and Sven Baertschi remains week to week (hip flexor).
