Five Thorns FC Players Called into USWNT Camp Ahead of Friendlies against Colombia

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC midfielders Tobin Heath, Lindsey Horan and Allie Long and defenders Meghan Klingenberg and Emily Sonnett were named to the 23-player U.S. Women's National Team roster for training camp ahead of a pair of international friendlies against Colombia on April 6 and April 10, it was announced today.

The United States will train in Orlando for six days before traveling to East Hartford, Conn. for a match on April 6 at Pratt & Whitney Stadium; kickoff is set for 4 p.m. (Pacific) on FS1. The two teams will meet for a second time at Talen Energy Stadium in Chester, Penn. on April 10; kickoff is set for 11 a.m. (Pacific) on ESPN. Head coach Jill Ellis will name 18 players to the game day roster for each match.

Heath (114 caps), Horan (14 caps), Klingenberg (59 caps) and Sonnett (8 caps) arrived in Portland and began training with Thorns FC on March 17 after helping the United States win the SheBelievesCup in early March. Heath, Horan and Klingenberg appeared in all three matches for the United States at the SheBelieves Cup, while Sonnett started in the first match of the tournament against England on March 3.

Long returns to camp with the United States for the first time since January 2015, having earned four caps since making her debut in 2014. A 2015 NWSL Best XI selection, Long tallied 10 goals and four assists, starting all 20 matches for Portland.
