Barrie, ON - The Barrie Colts announced today the schedule for the opening round of the 2016 OHL Playoffs against divisional opponent the Mississauga Steelheads. The series will open up Thursday March 24th at the Barrie Molson Centre as the Colts host the Steelheads for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Quarter-Finals.

The Barrie Colts are back-to-back Central Division Champions, earning their 3rd title in the last four seasons and head into the first round of the 2016 OHL playoffs as the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Barrie will face the Mississauga Steelheads in the opening round, meeting for the first time in the post-season since 2012. These two clubs have met six times previously in the playoffs with the Colts earning the series victory four times.
This past campaign, the Colts (43-22-0-3) and Steelheads (33-30-2-3) met in six regular season contests with Barrie taking five of the six match-ups. In their 21- year existence, Barrie has failed to make the playoffs just once in franchise history.
