March 16, 2018 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL) - Flint Firebirds News Release
Sault Ste. Marie, Ont - The Flint Firebirds handed the OHL's winningest team just their third loss on home ice of the season in front of a near capacity crowd of more than 4,300 fans at the Essar Centre Friday night. Flint posted a 4-3 victory over the Greyhounds, the Firebirds' second consecutive triumph over Sault Ste. Marie. With the win, the Firebirds are only the second team to earn two victories over the Greyhounds during the 2017-18 season.

In overtime, Fedor Gordeev (Toronto Maple Leafs) found the back of the net to seal the win. Overage netminder Garrett Forrest was outstanding between the pipes, making 34 saves on 37 shots and earning 'First-Star' honors for the contest.
The Firebirds will wrap-up the 2017-18 season on home-ice tomorrow, Saturday, March 17th. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. at the Dort Federal Event Center and great seats are still available.
