Firebirds Complete Trade with North Bay

Flint, Mich. - The Flint Firebirds announced today that the club has completed a trade QID]) with the North Bay Battalion.

In the trade, the Firebirds receive the rights to goaltender Garrett Forrest in addition to the Windsor Spitfires' fourth-round pick in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection. The Battalion receive the rights to goaltender Brent Moran.

"We have a number of overage eligible players to manage," said Flint Firebirds General Manager George Burnett. "An opportunity presented itself in North Bay. In return we received a draft pick in this year's Priority Selection as well as add depth to the goaltending position."

Forrest is a native of Ashburn, Virginia and played his minor hockey with the Detroit Belle Tire, Little Caesars and Honeybaked AAA Clubs. Last season, Forrest earned First Team All-Star accolades after recording an impressive 2.37 GAA and a .934 save percentage in 38 games played with the Powassan VooDoos in the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL). Forrest was second among NOJHL goaltenders with 24 wins, led all league netminders in save percentage and in shutouts (5).
