Fighting Saints Acquire Defenseman Chris Lipe

DUBUQUE, Iowa - The Dubuque Fighting Saints acquired defenseman Chris Lipe from the Des Moines Buccaneers over the weekend in exchange for a 7th round 2019 Phase 1 draft pick. The Saints still have one 7th round Phase 1 pick left in the 2019 draft after the trade.
Lipe had seven points in 55 games last season with the Buccaneers and he had one point in two games with the Buccaneers this preseason. Lipe is a 6' 1'', 185 pound defenseman out of Rockford, Michigan. Lipe is one of five right handed defensemen currently on the team.
"We were looking to add a veteran defenseman on the right side," General Manager Kalle Larsson said. "We had our eyes on [Chris] Lipe for a while and we are very excited to add him to our group."
Lipe will join the Saints immediately as the team continues to build a veteran presence on the ice this season.
