Fightin Phils Opening Night Details Released

(Reading, Pa.)---The Reading Fightin Phils, proud Double-A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies, have announced the team's schedule of events for Fightin Phils Opening Night on Friday, April 12, 2013. The first 2,500 adults 15 and over will receive a Fightin Phils Uniform Blanket with Sleeves, a "Snuggie-Style" Blanket, at the 47th home opener. When wearing the blanket, it will appear as if you are actually wearing the same Fightin Phils Uniform as the players. The Fightin Phils uniform is an exact replica of the 1950 Phillies "Whiz Kids" Uniform.

Along with the unique giveaway, 25 lucky fans will receive the game-worn jerseys that the team will wear in their first-ever game as the Reading Fightin Phils. All fans that attend Fightin Phils Opening Night on April 12 will be eligible to win the authentic jerseys free of charge.

Fightins Phils Opening Night will also feature the unveiling of the team's just announced $1 Million video board project.

"This Opening Night promotional lineup is our finest ever," said Fightin Phils General Manager Scott Hunsicker. "The Fightin Phils Uniform Snuggie is a must-have collector's item, and coupled with the 25 fans winning a game-worn Fightin Phils jersey, it will be a very memorable night for all in Baseballtown."

Tickets for Fightin Phils Opening Night will be going on sale on Monday, Dec. 17 exclusively at the Mitchell & Ness Fightin Phils Team Store holiday shopping event from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Fightins.com. Starting on Tuesday, Dec. 18, Fightin Phils Opening Night tickets will be available by calling 610-370-BALL, visiting the Fightins Ticket Office in person at FirstEnergy Stadium, or online at Fightins.com

Red Reserved Seats and General Admission tickets will be available for purchase. Blue Box Seats and Yellow Box Seats for Fightin Phils Opening Night are only available by purchasing Fightin Phils Season Tickets or Mini-Plans. The best way to get the best seats for the historic night is to order a Fightin Phils Mini-Plan or Season Ticket.

Mini-Plans start at the low cost of $60 where fans have the option of either a 6 for $60 Plan or Fightins 4-Pack. The Fightins 4-Pack includes tickets to four games of your choice in addition to a new Fightin Phils t-shirt. A 6 for $60 Plan includes tickets to six games of your choice in 2013. The holiday shopping event will feature a variety of spirited deals and activities including 20% off your entire order on store merchandise, $17 Reading Eagle Character Pool Party tickets on Opening Night, open PA Announcer tryouts, live Christmas carols by Acoustic Carrot, and complimentary snacks and beverages.

The Fightin Phils will kick off their home schedule on Friday, April 12 at FirstEnergy Stadium when the team takes on the Erie SeaWolves.
