(Portland, ME) - The Reading Fightin Phils (50-35) losing streak extended to five games on Friday night as the Portland Sea Dogs (40-43) took both games of their double-header at Hadlock Field.

In game one, Fightin Phils starter John Richy (1-3) gave up a run in the bottom of the first inning. Brock Holt scored on a RBI groundout by Jeremy Barfield to give the Sea Dogs a 1-0 lead. Portland extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the second inning against Richy. Holt hit a RBI single and Chad De La Guerra hit a two-run double.

Portland Sea Dogs starter Trey Ball (3-7) retired the first thirteen batters in order. He gave up a one-out double to outfielder Jiandido Tromp in the top of the fifth inning that broke up the perfect-game. Chace Numata hit a RBI double off Ball two batters later to score Tromp and cut Portland's lead to 5-1.

Richy left the game after four innings. He allowed five runs off eight hits with four walks and one strikeout. Alberto Tirado pitched in relief of Richy. He gave up two runs off four hits with one walk and one strikeout in two innings. Henry Urrutia hit a two-run double off Tirado in the bottom of the sixth inning to give Portland a 7-1 lead.

Ball retired the side on three pitches in the top of the seventh inning to log his first complete game victory of the season.

In game two, Reading would take a 3-0 lead against Taylor Grover and the Sea Dogs in the top of the second inning. Cord Sandberg recorded his first RBI single at the AA-level to bring home Jiandido Tromp. Drew Stankiewicz hit a RBI single to score Sandberg then Nick Rickles stole home for the third run of the inning.

Portland got a run against Alexis Rivero (3-2) in the bottom of the second inning to cut Reading's lead to 3-1. Mike Olt hit a RBI single to score Jeremy Barfield. Jeremy Barfield was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning to make it a 3-2 game. Mike Olt hit a grand slam off Rivero to give Portland a 6-3 lead. Rivero left the game after issuing a walk to Josh Tobias. Austin Davis entered the game in relief of Rivero. Mitch Walding committed a fielding error in the inning that allowed Tobias to score and give Portland a 7-3 lead.

Portland's Grover left the game after three innings. Josh Smith (4-1) entered the game to pitch in relief. Reading's Davis pitched 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Danny Mars hit a two-run double off Tom Windle in the bottom of the fifth inning to give Portland a 9-3 lead.

Kyle Martin hit a three-run home run off Bobby Poyner in the top of the ninth inning to cut Portland's lead to 9-6. The home run for Martin was his 15th of the season.
