Baltimore Blast News Release

Baltimore, MD - The Baltimore Blast announced today that former players Keith Van Eron and Dominic Mobilio will be inducted into the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame on Saturday, February 16. Original Blast Head Coach Kenny Cooper, former players Stan Stamenkovic, Mike Stankovic, Tim Wittman, Bruce Savage, Dave MacWilliams, Joey Fink and Heinz Wirtz are already in Hall of Fame, along with original MISL Commissioner Earl Foreman. Van Eron and Mobilio will be honored in a ceremony during halftime of the Blast game against the New Jersey Ironmen on the 16th .

I am happy to announce the upcoming induction of Keith Van Eron and Dominic Mobilio into the Baltimore Blast Hall of Fame," said Blast Investor/Operator Ed Hale. "Keith played for the Blast before I owned

the team but he is still an active and respected member of the Baltimore community, not to mention a fan favorite from the team's early days. I had the pleasure of personally knowing Dominic and, like everyone who knew him, was saddened by the news of his passing. Both men made tremendous contributions to the Blast."

Van Eron, who played six seasons for the Blast, was a member of 1984 Baltimore Blast MISL Championship team and was the winning goalkeeper in the Blast's Championship Series-clinching win over St. Louis on June 8, 1984. A 1983 MISL All-Star, Van Eron was the team's MVP in 1982 and was named Second-Team All-MISL after the 1982-83 season. In total, Van Eron won 92 games in his six seasons with the Blast.

Mobilio, who passed away on November 13, 2004, joined the Blast for the 1988-89 season and was named the 1989 MISL Newcomer of the Year after recording 36 goals and 17 assists (53 points) in 44 games. He made consecutive All-Star Appearances in 1990 and 1991, was named Honorable Mention All-MISL in 1990 and ranks fourth on the original Blast's all-time scoring list with 261 points and eighth on the team's postseason all-time scoring list with 36 points.

The Blast (11-9, fifth place in the MISL), will travel to Orlando this weekend for a Saturday-night match against the Sharks. The Blast is 3-0 against the Sharks this season including a 25-18 win last weekend. The team will return to 1st Mariner Arena on the 16th to host the New Jersey Ironmen and induct Van Eron and Mobilio into the Hall of Fame.
