February 7, 2013 - United States Hockey League (USHL) - Dubuque Fighting Saints
DUBUQUE, Iowa -Not only will the stakes be high on the ice Saturday night, but off the ice as well. With a seven-game roadtrip behind them, a month of hockey filled with exciting promotions and fun kicks off on Saturday as the Dubuque Fighting Saints host Vegas Night with Prairie Farms Cowbell Cup rival Waterloo Black Hawks visiting for a 7:05 p.m. contest. Dubuque plays three straight games at home, including Saints Valentine's Day on Tuesday, February 12 at 7:05 p.m. versus Sioux City, and Friday, February 15 versus Green Bay, which is part of Hockey Weekend Across America, and is a BLACK OUT, presented by Truck Country. That night will feature the Fighting Saints wearing black uniforms that will be auctioned off after the game.
In the stands, the games will feature fun theme nights and entertaining promotions that will engage fans. The Fighting Saints pay homage to The Entertainment Capital of the World on Vegas Night. The arena will be themed around Vegas, and Mystique Casino will bring a table setup where fans can play 21 for non-cash prizes. An intermission game will see an oversized game of craps being played on the ice with giant fuzzy dice.
Saturday's Vegas Night will also feature ties to movies about Sin City, including The Hangover. Those who use the restroom during a break in the action should be careful, as there may be a tiger, and much like in Vegas, the Fighting Saints will have their own convenient wedding chapel.
Following the contest on Saturday, the Fighting Saints play a rare weekday home game, hosting Sioux City on Tuesday with Saints Valentine's Day. We honor love, cupid, and the upcoming holiday. Entertainment will feature a spoof of the Newlywed Game and the popular Kiss Cam. The Fighting Saints are offering a special deal for couples wanting to celebrate Valentine's Day. For just $50, fans can score a deal that includes two corner tickets, two buffet meals in the DB&T Club, and a Fighting Saints fleece scarf for her.
The final game of the homestand is Friday, February 15, as the Fighting Saints host the Green Bay Gamblers in an Eastern Conference battle. Dubuque will take part in the national event of Hockey Weekend Across America, and the evening is a BLACK OUT presented by Truck County. The Fighting Saints will be wearing special black uniforms that will be auctioned off following the game with proceeds to benefit the Dubuque Youth Hockey Association.
Fun promotions and key matchups on the ice start Saturday night. Tickets are available for all three contests in February by calling 563.583.6880 and online at DubuqueFightingSaints.com.
