FC Cincinnati News Release
FC CINCINNATI
Head Coach Alan Koch
On playing a man-down vs. Tampa Bay
"These games are based on moments. In the context of 90 minutes, at the end of the night we'll take the point and move forward from this. I think having been in the situation we were in at Bethlehem, we knew what we were getting into and exactly what to do. I give credit to the players who executed the game plan. It is imperative in this league, with the teams getting better and better each year, to be ready as a team to play from the start."
On team energy and perseverance
"Jimmy (McLaughlin) brings a huge amount of energy and creative elements when taking plays on. If one player starts to have an impact, it can be infectious and tonight it went through the whole group on the field. He stepped up and addressed the situation, came out with a positive mindset, and they all showed they were capable of competing with such an experienced team."
MITCH HILDEBRANDT
On giving up lone goal to Tampa Bay
"I thought it was a good strike. I wasn't surprised, but it then became more of how I could fix this to make sure that didn't happen again. Nobody gave up and everyone fought for each other. That's the commitment we need to be successful in this league."
HARRISON DELBRIDGE
After Tampa Bay goal
"I'm disappointed to give the ball away that I did, but on the flip side you have other guys on the field that step up when things happen. It's a matter of responding to it the right way, which we did."
On FCC red card
"I'm happy with the way we responded to an unfortunate call. When something like that happens, your strategy changes, but tonight everyone stepped up. We got smart and put the right guys behind the ball to make sure we came out of this match with a point.
On physical field play
"We're both very competitive teams, and tonight came down to winning points that both teams desperately wanted. They're a fun team to play against and sometimes that type of physicality on both ends of the field is what makes it competitive."
