PIMENTEL PITCHES REDHAWKS TO 5-1 VICTORY OVER SIOUX CITY

FARGO, ND --- The RedHawks picked up their first home win of the season by a score of 5-1 Wednesday night thanks to a one-run 7.1 inning start from Cesilio Pimentel and timely hitting by Yhoxian Medina. They now have sole possession of the American Association's best record.

Medina plated his first runner in the bottom of the second thanks to a bases-loaded error by Sioux City second baseman, Nick Flair, giving the RedHawks a 1-0 lead. The RedHawks starting shortstop batted in another runner on a bases loaded fielder's choice in the fourth and again came up with the bases loaded in the sixth hitting a two-RBI double.

Fargo-Moorhead never trailed in the game. The lone run surrendered by Pimentel came on a fifth inning solo-shot by Josh Vitters. The southpaw allowed just four hits and gave up one walk while striking out eight batters including the first two of the game.

Richie Tate came in to relieve Pimentel and pitched his way out of bases loaded jam in the eighth. The Arkansas native picked up his first save of the season giving up just one hit in his 1.2 innings of work while striking out one.

What's Next?: The RedHawks play the final game of their four game series against Sioux City tomorrow night. First pitch is scheduled for 7:02 pm.
