Fans Invited to Pick-A-Seat Day for Fun, Games and a Sneak Preview

July 3, 2009 - NBA G League (G League)
Maine Celtics News Release

PORTLAND, ME - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Quirk Chevrolet, will give fans a sneak peek at the brand new parquet floor on July 11 from 11 AM - 2 PM at the Portland Expo Building. Current season ticket holders will have the opportunity to check out the view from their seats while those thinking about purchasing tickets will have the opportunity to "try it out before you buy it". Everyone attending will be able to take part in free fun and games.

Fans will also have the opportunity to win their seat. Any fan in attendance who is able to sink a shot from center court will win a season ticket for the 2009-10 season. At a recent event held by the rival Springfield (MA) Armor, two lucky fans were able to make the shot. Red Claws' season tickets have become a hot commodity as the expansion team continues to outpace all other teams in the 16-team NBA Development League in tickets sold and revenue.

"We are quickly approaching a point where we will need to think about capping our season ticket sales," said Red Claws President and General Manager Jon Jennings. "We knew Mainers were rabid basketball fans - that was one of the things that first attracted us to this area - but the response from fans has been overwhelming, even before we announced affiliations with the Celtics and Bobcats."

Fans not lucky enough to win their seats will still be eligible to win other prizes, including Red Claws merchandise, and to take part in free fun and games including:

- Free popcorn

- Moon bounce

- Face painting

- Coloring contests

- Meet and dance with the Red Claws dance team

- Make a shot on the new parquet floor from half-court and win one season ticket!

- Opportunities to win Red Claw prizes
