ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs are hosting a cosplay event for Geeks and Goblins night (presented by 97 ZOK) Saturday, Oct. 28 at 6 p.m. at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Fans are invited to wear their favorite cosplay or Halloween costume when the Hogs take on the reigning Calder Cup champion Grand Rapids Griffins, and several vendor booths will be on display throughout the afternoon on the arena concourse.

Doors for the event open at 3 p.m. and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive a free clear PVC tote courtesy of Dr. Sexson Orthodontics. Saturday's pregame festivities will also include a giant inflatable monster truck outside of the box office, where fans will have the opportunity to take pictures and register to win free tickets to Monster Jam on Nov. 3-4.

Inside the arena and on the BMO concourse, fans in attendance can browse a variety of specialty vendor booths which will feature around 20 comic-book vendors, comic writers and artists (NOTE: fans must have a ticket to Saturday's IceHogs game to visit the vendors and participate in cosplay events). As part of the event, Chicago cosplay professional, Victori Belle, will be on-hand to judge a cosplay costume contest. Prizes will be awarded for the best cosplay costumes, with the top three finalists receiving tickets to a Chicago Blackhawks game, suite for an IceHogs home game or an IceHogs jersey, respectively. Fans can register for the cosplay costume contest by visiting the sign-up table on the concourse.

Kids ages 14 and under can also participate in a Halloween costume contest to win various prizes.

Following the game, kids ages 14 and under are invited to line up at the top of section 101 for a postgame trick-or-treat with the IceHogs players on the arena ice. Kids participating in the trick-or-treat may bring a clear or plastic bag into the arena for the IceHogs game. In addition, the tote-bag giveaway may also be used for the trick-or-treat, and the IceHogs will also provide a limited number of clear PVC tote bags for the postgame event, courtesy of Dr. Sexson Orthodontics.
