Omaha Storm Chasers News Release
OMAHA - In anticipation of a large crowd tonight, the Omaha Storm Chasers are encouraging fans to arrive early at Werner Park. Guests are advised to arrive this evening prior to 6:30 p.m., as the busiest times tonight are anticipated to be between 6:30-7:15 p.m. The Werner Park parking lots will be open at 4:45 p.m. Limited Picnic Benches and Omaha Steaks Tailgating Grills are available at no charge.
The first 1,500 kids age 12 and under to arrive at Werner Park when gates open at 6:00 p.m. will receive a Kids Batting Helmet Giveaway courtesy of McDonald's. Following the contest will be a Post-Game Fireworks Spectacular presented by Kugler Vision.
An Autographed Mystery Ball Auction will also take place during the game. Fans will have the opportunity to purchase one signed ball or $30, or two for $50, while supplies last. The identity of the autograph on the ball, which can range from any current or former Storm Chasers plater, Kansas City Royals player, or from many other MiLB or MLB Teams, will not be revealed until fans remove the ball from their bags. Proceeds from the auction will benefit Chasers Charities, the Storm Chasers' 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Tickets for this evening's game are still available, and can be purchased online at www.omahastormchasers.com/tickets, or by calling the Werner Park Ticket Office at (402) 738-5100. Gates at Werner Park will be open at 6:00 p.m.
First pitch for tonight's game is scheduled for 7:05 p.m., with the Storm Chasers beginning their four-game homestand against the Nashville Sounds. LHP John Lannan (5-3, 4.30) is slated to start for Omaha, while Nashville is anticipated to send RHP Daniel Mengden (3-0, 1.12) to the hill.
