May 26, 2017 - International League (IL1)
Scranton/Wilkes-Barre RailRiders News Release
MLBAM have again teamed up to provide fans across the country the opportunity to send their favorite players to the Triple-A All-Star Game. Now in the 12th consecutive year of their partnership, the parties announced today that the 2017 Esurance Triple-A All-Star Ballot has officially launched and will be available over the next four weeks, through Friday, June 23. The 30th annual Triple-A All-Star Game will be played, for the first time, at historic Cheney Stadium in Tacoma, Washington on Wednesday, July 12.
For both the International and Pacific Coast Leagues, fans can select one player for each infield position, a catcher, a designated hitter, three outfielders and four pitchers - two starters and two relievers. Write-in votes for players not on the ballot will also be accepted. Up-to-date stats and position-by-position breakdowns are available to assist fans in their selections. Fan balloting accounts for one-third of the total vote, with the remaining two-thirds determined by ballots of media members and each club's field manager, coaches, and general manager.
MLBAM online voting services provides fans numerous platforms to access the 2017 Esurance Triple-A All- Star Ballot. It can be found at the official websites of Minor League Baseball (MiLB.com), the Pacific Coast League (PCLBaseball.com), the International League (ILBaseball.com) and the websites of all 30 Triple-A teams. Ballots are also available through the MiLB First Pitch app on Android, iPad®, iPhone® and iPod touch® devices. Once fans have made their selections, they will be able to share links to their ballots through Facebook and Twitter to encourage others to vote.
The 2017 CHI Franciscan Health Triple-A All-Star Game presented by Gildan will be hosted by the Tacoma Rainiers and broadcast live on MLB Network and MiLB.TV on July 12 at 6:05 p.m. PDT. Fans can also catch the game on the go with the MiLB First Pitch app. All-Star festivities will also include the Triple-A Home Run Derby on Monday, July 10, where three All-Stars from each league will compete for a chance to win the Home Run Derby Championship Belt.
Fans who are interested in more information on the events, or would like to purchase tickets, are encouraged to visit the official website of the Tacoma Rainiers, www.tacomarainiers.com.
