Houston Aeros News Release
HOUSTON, Texas - The Houston Aeros take on the Cleveland Barons to wrap up a four-game homestand Sunday at 5:05 p.m. at Toyota Center. It's an Aeros Family Day, featuring Aeros Bike Night and honorary Aeros Phil and Carol Garner.
Get four tickets, four gifts, $20 in Toyota Bucks and free parking, all starting at just $59! Packages can be ordered by calling the Aeros office at 713.974.PUCK.
Houston Astros manager Phil Garner and his wife Carol will serve as "Honorary Aeros" for the game as part of Houston Aeros Bike Night. In addition to Garner's appearance, Mancuso Harley-Davidson will present a special bike display outside Toyota Center.
The Aeros will also welcome representatives from the Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL at Sunday's game. Fans donating $20 to the Sea Wolves' hurricane recovery efforts will receive a "Hurricane Survivor T-shirt".
On August 29, Hurricane Katrina forced the Sea Wolves into an extended offseason due to extensive damage inside the Mississippi Coast Coliseum flooding the front office, locker rooms, ice making equipment and two Zambonis. The team will return to the ice in October of 2006.
"We're delighted to join the Sea Wolves' Texas efforts," said Tom Garrity, Aeros' president. "They are a valued member of the I-10 hockey community. With the arrival of Hurricane Rita upon Texas' shores just weeks after Hurricane Katrina, the cause hits close to home."
"We want to thank the Houston Aeros for providing us a chance to fundraise," Sea Wolves general manager Jesse Martin said. "We're grateful for the support from another member of the hockey family. It will help us get back to normalcy."
Sea Wolves will be represented by Martin and director of broadcasting and media relations Mike Kelly. Fans wishing to donate and receive a T-shirt can find the Sea Wolves at the Houston Aeros Charities table at the LaBranch/Polk Entrance.
Beginning the weekend with San Antonio of the AHL on Friday, Sea Wolves reps are in Corpus Christi of the Central Hockey League on Saturday before heading to Houston for Sunday's game.
