WATERLOO, Iowa - A complete game shutout from Alex Fagalde proved to be too much for the Waterloo as the Bucks dropped to the Rochester Honkers, 2-0, in the finale of the SCHEELS Highway 63 Cup Series. Today's Bucks loss brings the series record to 4-4, the second straight season the two teams have split the overall series.

The Honkers scored their first of two runs with two outs in the third. Alex Fitchett led off the inning with a double down the left field line before All-Star Turner Buis brought Fitchett around with an RBI single to center.

Rochester (7-10, 14-38) doubled their lead to 2-0 with a run in the ninth. Joey Czarske led off the inning with a double down the right field line, however, a throwing error on the play allowed Czarske to move up to third. Two batters later, Jackson Thoreson scored Czarske from third with an RBI single into right.

Waterloo (7-10, 29-23) didn't have a single base-runner reach third on the evening and managed just four hits, two from Alex Boxwell. Zach Weatherford went 1-for-2 with a single and a walk and? was the only other Buck to reach base twice on the night.

Jonathan Buckley (1-1) was charged with the loss in his first start of the season. The right-hander yielded just one run on five hits, striking out three and walking one in a season-high 6 1/3 innings. All-Star Derek Hendrixson struck out two in 1 1/3 scoreless innings while Brandon Downey allowed an unearned run in relief for the second consecutive night.

Fagalde (2-1) retired nine of the first 10 hitters he faced and set down seven in a row at one point in the first Rochester complete game shutout of the year. The right-hander allowed just four hits and two walks while striking out six on the night.

The Bucks begin their two-game road trip on Tuesday in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, vs. the Border Cats. First pitch in the series opener from Port Arthur Stadium is at 6:05 p.m. LHP Bryce Reichmann (2-0, 4.91) gets the start for Waterloo while Thunder Bay has yet to announce their starting pitcher.

Waterloo returns to Riverfront Stadium on Thursday for a two-game series vs. the Willmar Stingers. Gates open at 6 p.m. followed by first pitch at 7:05 p.m.

Thursday's game is a Twins Ticket Giveaway, College Night and a Thirsty Thursday. One lucky fan will receive a pair of tickets to an upcoming Minnesota Twins game this season. College students receive a reserved seat ticket and two hot dogs for $7.00 while bottled water, 24 oz. fountain soda, 12 oz. draft beer and small popcorn cost just $2.00.
