Peterborough Petes News Release

Peterborough, ON- The Peterborough Petes and the Alzheimer Society of Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes, Northumberland & Haliburton are excited to host the third annual Faceoff Against Dementia event this Thursday night at the Peterborough Memorial Centre.

The event will take place in conjunction with the rivalry game between the Peterborough Petes and Oshawa Generals on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 7:05pm. The game will support over 7,600 people who are living with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias in the Peterborough area.

Fans can participate in a fundraising chuck-a-puck as well as other activities designed to raise funds and awareness. On the ice, the Petes will be looking to return to glory, as they last hoisted the Cup in 2015. A win on Thursday would also put the Petes in a tie for first place in the Eastern Conference.

"In the first two Faceoff Against Dementia events, Petes fans helped raise a combined $26,000 for the cause," noted Matt D'Agostini, Petes Coordinator of Marketing and Community Events. "We have been delighted with the response of the community for the past two seasons, and look forward to seeing a packed Memorial Centre on Thursday night."

Before the game, the Petes will also make a presentation to Zach Gallant, who was named the OHL Player of the Month in December.

Tickets are selling out quickly for the rivalry game between the Petes and Generals. Fans can get their tickets at the PMC Collins Barrow Box Office in person or online, or by calling 705-743-3561. Looking for more Petes info? Download the free Petes Mobile App for Android or iPhone devices.
