Torrington Titans News Release
The Torrington Titans (21-22) beat the Bristol Blues (26-19) 3-2 but needed 10 innings to do so on Wednesday at Muzzy Field.
With the score tied at two, Nick Garland (CCSU) came to the plate and singled, scoring Dan Schock (Sacred Heart) from second base and taking a lead they would not relinquish.
The Bristol Blues couldn't get anything going so long as David Gerics (Pomona-Pitzer) was on the hill. The Bristol Blues managed just one hit off of Gerics, who allowed one earned run, walked four and struck out four during his five innings of work.
Ray Krieger (Bridgeport) recorded his third win of the year for the Torrington Titans. Krieger struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits. Alex Fishberg (Iona) picked up the save after working a scoreless 10th inning to seal the victory.
Riley Streit was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted 3 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
The Titans are in action again on Thursday night, this time at home against the Wachusett Dirt Dawgs at 7:00 p.m.
