Express tryout camp a success

Newark, NJ. The ABA Newark Express hosted its first tryout on Saturday, June 4th at the Boys & Girls Club of Newark.
As previously stated by Jacqueline Halyard, one of the Express owners, "This will be our first tryout; we're giving Newark residents their opportunity to showcase their talent."
The tryout was facilitated by former NBA great Tony Campbell, who played for the championship LA Lakers, NY Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves. Tony's team of coaches and evaluators ran the potential Newark Express hopefuls through rigorous conditioning drills, pro training exercises and gut checking scrimmages.
"At the end of the tryout each hopeful knew without a doubt what it would entail to play at this level and the work ethic that is required," stated coach Campbell. The owners will contact each participant via mail within 10 days in regards to the outcome of the tryouts. Marsha Blount, the other co-owner, ended the session by congratulating all of the players and thanking them for their participation. She expressed from the heart, "If this doesn't work out the way you hoped, do not give up on your dream; there is always next year."
The Newark Express is looking for a qualified head coach and supporting staff. All interested candidates should forward their resume to newarkexpress@msn.com immediately.
