Exciting New Era Begins in RGV

July 13, 2013 - Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL)
Hidalgo La Fiera News Release

RGV HIDALGO, Texas- With a very successful first season in the Professional Arena Soccer League the Valley's lone franchise is set to undergo several changes.

Some of the changes that the team will be going through are ownership, new name, a new logo, and new opponents that are closer in travel distance.

The new name of the Valley's franchise will change to the Rio Grande Valley La Fiera and the new owner will be Victor Fernandez who will emphasize community involvement.

Fernandez saw the potential the Flash displayed on and off the field in their first season.

"When I attended some of the games last season I saw there was some support in the stands and I feel that as a franchise if we get more involved in the community we can get the arena packed," said Fernandez.

Fernandez also added "With Laredo, Texas earning a franchise as well as Tulsa, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas the travel schedule will be a little easier."

Mariano Bollella will be brought back as the team head coach from last season, and front office member Raul De La Garza will also be back from last season. La Furia will also continue to play their home games at State Farm Arena.
