ESTERO, FL- Ryan Martindale scored a goal and added two assists to lift the Florida Everblades to a 5-1 victory over the Brampton Beast Friday night at Germain Arena.

After a scoreless first period, the Everblades got things going in the second exploding for three goals.

Ryan Martindale broke the scoreless tie on an Everblades power play. Martindale grabbed the puck at mid ice and put on a series of moves to shake and bake the defense, splitting two defenders and slipping the puck past Jordan Ruby to give the Everblades a 1-0 lead.** ()

More than a minute later, Corey Syvret and Ryan Martindale exchanged give-and-go passes before Martindale steered the puck across the crease to Willows who found the open net to give the Blades a 2-0 lead over the Beast.

With three minutes remaining in the second period, Justin Agosta received the puck from the right wing side, slid into the slot, pulled the puck back and rifled high into the net past Ruby to put the Everblades up 3-0.

Brampton finally got on the board at 8:36 of the third. Tim Billingsley skated into the slot and fought his way to the net rolling in the puck past Florida netminder Anthony Peters cutting the Everblades lead to 3-1.

Two minutes later, Maxime St-Cyr put the Everblades back up by three with his fourth goal of the season racing past the Beast defense and slipping the puck past the outstretched leg of Ruby who was attempting to get back into the crease.

Late in the contest, Corey Cowick scored the second power play goal on the night for the Everblades. Willows fed Martindale behind the net who found a wide open Cowick in the slot. Cowick wristed the puck into the top right corner giving the Everblades a 5-1 lead.

Anthony Peters dominated in net, stopping 37 out of 38 shots on goal from the Beast, meanwhile Jordan Rudy took home his first loss in his first start for the Beast allowing five goals on 28 shots from the 'Blades.

The Everblades and Beast faceoff again Saturday Jan 16 at Germain Arena, game time is set at 7:00 p.m. Promotional details listed below.
