March 28, 2013 - Frontier League (FL) - Evansville Otters
(EVANSVILLE, INDIANA) - The Evansville Otters are proud to announce that right-handed pitcher Bryce Morrow has signed a contract extension with the team.
After only pitching in 6 games his rookie season (all as a reliever), Morrow excelled with Evansville in 2012 as a starter, going 8-8 with a 3.97 earned run average. He had the most quality starts on the Otters staff (13) and never missed a start all season long (19).
"Bryce was one of the biggest surprises last year," said Otters manager Andy McCauley . "Morrow has a power arm that learned the most of all the starters. He is a tireless worker that kept himself in great shape all summer. We look for Bryce to be at the top of the rotation and vie for a chance to be picked up by an affiliated team."
Morrow's command is also highly respected as he walked only 32 batters in a total of 111 innings last season. He is looking forward to being back in an Otters uniform and leading the team to even more wins in 2013.
"I'm excited to come back to Evansville and pitch at Bosse Field for another year," said Morrow. "We've got a great group of guys returning to the lineup and a group of pitchers that had success last year. The work ethic on last year's team was tremendous and it will be fun to see how much better we will be as a team this season."
