ESPN 730 to Carry All Checkers Games in 2012-13

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The Charlotte Checkers announced today that ESPN 730 will be the team's flagship radio and online station for 2012-13.

All regular season and playoff games will be available at ESPN730.com through the "listen live" stream and through the TuneIn Radio app for smartphones and tablets. All broadcasts will include a 15-minute pre-game show prior to puck drop. Additionally, more than 40 games will be broadcast on the radio (AM 730).

"We are very excited to add the Charlotte Checkers as another local broadcast partner," said ESPN 730 general manager Lanny Ford. "With our national ESPN affiliation and the continued growth with local sports franchises, our listeners and broadcast partners see our commitment to be the focal point and source for all sports in Charlotte."

ESPN 730 is the home of the Checkers, Charlotte 49ers, Atlanta Braves, Appalachian State University, Clemson University and NASCAR, as well as national and local sports talk, including Mike and Mike in the Morning and The Herd.
