Edmonton Elks News Release

(Edmonton) The Edmonton Eskimos today selected offensive lineman Greg Wojt of Central Michigan University with their first pick (11th overall) in the 2008 CFL Canadian Draft. The 6-4, 285 lbs native of Mississauga, Ontario

was a two year starter at right tackle for the Chippewas and played a key role in CMU's 2007 Mid-American Conference title.

Eskimo Head Coach and Director of Football Operations Danny Maciocia says " Greg's game is tailor made for the CFL - he's got quick feet and is very physical. Our offensive line coach had him ranked as the top O-lineman in this year's draft".

Earlier in the day, Edmonton traded the 2nd and 16th overall picks to Calgary in exchange for non-import OL John Comiskey, non-import WR Kevin Challenger and the Stampeders' 11th and 19th overall selections in the '08 CFL Canadian Draft.
