ENTERING TODAY'S ACTION...
Today, the SeaWolves meet the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) in the rubber game of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park. The Howlers took the first game in 10 innings while dropping last night's contest 7-4. The 'Wolves fell behind 7-2 and could not complete the comeback scoring just two runs late in the game. Erie had the tying run at the plate but failed to score more than one run in the ninth inning as their season-best seven-game home winning streak came to an end. Despite the loss, Erie remains the top home team in the EL with a 16-6 record at "The Uht." After Erie's season best six-game winning streak came to an end on May 15, the club has gone just 2-5 since. The 'Wolves are in second place in the Southern Division, six games behind Akron. Harrisburg enters today's game 3-7 in its last 10 and in last place in the South with the fewest wins (9) in the EL...Righty Jonah Nickerson takes the mound for Erie making his eighth start of the season and first against the Senators. Today will be his first start not against Bowie or Altoona. He has won back-to-back games. In his last outing against Bowie on May 15, Nickerson went five innings, allowing five runs on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts...Righty Erik Arnesen takes the mound for the Senators, making his third appearance, second start and first start against the 'Wolves. Arnesen picked up his first win in his last outing against Reading going five innings, allowing a run on six hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. Arnesen has allowed one run on nine hits in his first 7.1 innings of work...Erie looks to win its sixth series and second against Harrisburg. Erie is 5-5-1 in series this season and 1-1 in series vs. the Sens.
