Today, the SeaWolves are in search of their fourth road series win of the season as they take on the Richmond Flying Squirrels (San Francisco Giants) in the rubber game of a three-game series at The Diamond. Last night, the Flying Squirrels snapped their 14-game losing streak as they shut out the SeaWolves 9-0 in the middle game of the series. Squirrels starter Matt Gage took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and the Richmond offense jumped ahead 5-0 after three innings, sending Erie to the loss...The SeaWolves have dropped four of their past five games...The SeaWolves have struggled at The Diamond since 2010 when the Squirrels relocated from Norwich. Erie has not won a series at The Diamond since 2012 and has gone 2-8 in series in Richmond since 2010. Erie is 9-20 all-time in Richmond... Today, Cory Riordan takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his ninth start of the season and first against Richmond. In four road starts, Riordan is 2-0 with a pair of no-decisions and a 3.92 ERA. Riordan took a loss in his last start despite a quality start against Harrisburg on May 16. In the game. he allowed three runs, one earned, on nine hits with a walk and four strikeouts in equaling a season-high seven innings of work. Erie lost the game 5-2...RHP Tyler Beede takes the mound for Richmond making his eighth start. Beede took a loss in his last start against Altoona on May 15. In the game, he allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts in six innings.
