Erie Falls to Fort Wayne in Overtime, 106-97

Erie, Pennsylvania - The Erie BayHawks started hot but cooled late and fell to the visiting Fort Wayne Mad Ants in overtime, 106-97. Henry Sims tied a season-high for Erie with 30 points but the Mad Ants were too much for Erie down the stretch and snuck out of Erie Insurance Arena with a victory.

Erie (18-15) jumped out to a quick 18-6 lead to start the game. Fort Wayne (16-17) was able to cut the deficit to eight points after the first twelve minutes. The BayHawks controlled the action during the second quarter and led at the break by a score of 56-48.

Fort Wayne took it's first lead of the game in the third frame on an Anthony Harris jumper to put the Mad Ants ahead by one. The two teams battled for the remainder of the quarter before Fort Wayne took a three point lead into the final stanza. After falling behind by five, the BayHawks went on 13-0 run and held an eight point advantage with five minutes to go. The Mad Ants erased a six point deficit in the final two minutes and the game went to overtime. In the overtime period Fort Wayne outscored the BayHawks 11-4 and won by a final score of 106-97.

Sims led all scorers with 30 points and 11 rebounds. Mike Singletary chipped in with 19, D.J. Kennedy scored 16, Demonte Harper pitched in with 11 and Kyle Goldcamp finished with 10 points and 12 rebounds. Tony Mitchell (29), Ron Howard (27) and Anthony Richardson (20) combined to score all but 30 of Fort Wayne's points.

The BayHawks return to action tomorrow night against the Canton Charge at 7 PM at the Erie Insurance Arena. The first 1,000 adults will receive a free scratch-off vouchers from the Pennsylvania Lottery. One lucky fan will have the opportunity shoot to win a free 2013 Dodge Dart, courtesy of Humes Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge. The Mad Ants travel to Springfield to face the Armor tomorrow night at 7 PM.
