FORT MYERS, Fla. - Tanner English blasted two solo home runs to lead the Fort Myers Miracle (12-4) to a 4-2 win over Palm Beach Cardinals (9-7) on Sunday evening, their fifth straight victory.

RHP Cody Stashak and RHP Junior Fernandez went back-and-forth in a pitchers' duel early on. Stashak did not allow a hit until a two-out single in the fifth, while Fernandez gave up just one knock over 4.1 innings.

The Cardinals' righty Fernandez had just come off the disabled list earlier in the day and was pulled from his start early after he was examined in the bottom of the fifth. One run was charged to his name when Shane Kennedy delivered a run-scoring single against the reliever RHP Brennan Leitao. In the sixth, English boomed the first of his two home runs to left to give Fort Myers a 2-0 lead.

Stashak had his good stuff going all night. He had allowed just two hits through six innings and came out for the seventh. After a leadoff single by Chris Chinea, Danny Diekroeger supplied his first long ball of the year, tying the game at two which ousted Stashak from his start.

English led off the bottom of the eighth against RHP Hector Mendoza (L, 0-1) and provided his second tater, handing the Miracle a lead they would not relinquish. Jaylin Davis added an insurance run with a bases loaded single to score Jermaine Palacios. Up 4-2, RHP Tom Hackimer (W, 2-0) set down the Cardinals in short order in the ninth, completing a perfect two-inning relief outing.

The Miracle look for the series sweep on Monday night at 7:05 PM ET. The Meat-Up Monday which features dollar hot dogs will have RHP Sean Poppen dealing for the Miracle as RHP Ryan Hesley gets the ball for Palm Beach.
