Emeralds to Host National Anthem and Organist Tryouts

EUGENE, OR - The Eugene Emeralds will be hosting National Anthem auditions to find performers for the 2016 season on Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at PK Park. The team is also looking for organists to perform during the 7th inning stretch.

On Saturday, Participants may enter through the ballpark's 1st base entrance and register upon arrival. Performances will be a first come, first sing basis. Singers may leave at the completion of their auditions and will be contacted at a later date. National Anthem performers will have one minute and thirty seconds to perform the "Star Spangled Banner," and lyrics must be memorized.

The Eugene Emeralds are the short-season Class A team of the Chicago Cubs. In 2015, six of the top 30 Cubs prospects spent time in Eugene including Ian Happ, Donnie Dewees and Eloy Jimenez.
