Eugene Emeralds News Release

EUGENE, OR - Grab your helmet and bike on down to PK Park for Bike to Ballpark Night on Tuesday, July 26! The Ems are teaming up with Burley and Performance Bike for a night at the ballpark celebrating all things biking, including grand prize giveaways of four Burley bike trailers and two bikes from Performance Bicycle.

Free bike valet parking will be available courtesy of the Center for Appropriate Transportation, and Point2Point will be giving out free bike light sets to the first 125 cyclists.

Sluggo will meet fans at Monroe Park at 5:30 p.m. for the first ever "Bike to the Ballpark" with help from the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee. Fans will then head down East Broadway and make their way to the Autzen Footbridge then on to PK Park! Fans can meet up with the riders at any point in the ride, so stay on the lookout for a giant green bear being followed by a mob of cyclists.

Tuesday marks the start of a three-game home series against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and the start of the second half of the season. The Emeralds have clinched their first playoff spot in five years and are looking to stay hot as the end of the season approaches.

The Kendall Community Spotlight is the Lions Club International. Members look to take an active interest in the civic, cultural, social and moral welfare of the community.

The Eugene Emeralds are the short-season Class A team of the Chicago Cubs. In 2015, six of the top 30 Cubs prospects spent time in Eugene including Ian Happ, Donnie Dewees and Eloy Jimenez.
