Elmira's Dubuc Named Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Michael Dubuc of the Elmira Jackals is the Sher-Wood Hockey ECHL Player of the Week for Oct. 15-17. He also won the award on Dec. 28, 2008 and Feb. 8, 2009.

Dubuc had five goals and six points as the Jackals went 1-0-1 in their opening weekend series against Cincinnati.

After scoring a goal and adding an assist in a 7-3 win against the Cyclones in the Jackals' home opener on Friday, Dubuc tied a team record with four goals, including three on the power play, in a 5-4 overtime loss on Saturday.

Dubuc leads the ECHL with six points, five goals and three power-play goals

The 22 year old had 58 points (35g-23a) in 49 regular season games and seven points (4g-3a) in 12 Kelly Cup Playoff games for South Carolina in 2008-09 and last season, scored 31 points (13g-18a) in 38 regular season games and one goal in five Kelly Cup Playoff games for the Stingrays. He has eight points (5g-3a) in 19 AHL games with Hershey over the previous two seasons.

On behalf of Michael Dubuc, a case of pucks will be donated to an Elmira youth hockey organization by Sher-Wood Hockey, the exclusive puck supplier of the ECHL. Since beginning its sponsorship of the award in 2000-01,

Sher-Wood Hockey has donated more than 23,000 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities.
