TRENTON, N.J. - March 7, 2013 - The Elmira Jackals are on the road in Trenton tonight for their fifth game in the last nine days as they pay a visit to the Trenton Titans. After a shootout win last night in Wheeling, the Jackals have a chance for their fourth win in a row.

The Jackals are facing the Titans tonight for the 12th of 16 meetings this season and the seventh of eight at Sun National Bank Center. The Jackals are 7-3-1 against Trenton this season which includes a 4-1-1 mark at Sun National Bank Center. The Jackals' four wins in Trenton are more than any other building in the ECHL. Elmira has its offense to thank for many of those wins. The Jackals have not scored fewer than four goals in a game in Trenton and are averaging five goals per game here. Lately Elmira's defense has been a major strength by limiting opponents to 2.2 goals per game in its last nine. They will try to slow down Steven Schultz who is tied for fifth with 26 goals and has 13 in his last seven.
Elmira has qualified for the Kelly Cup Playoffs in each of its first five seasons in the ECHL. Its quest for a sixth straight berth is coming to a head. With at least one standings point in each of their last nine games (6-0-3) the Jackals have reduced their magic number to clinch a playoff spot to 15. The magic number is reduced any time the Jackals earn a point in a game or the ninth place team fails to earn a point in a game. Despite playing 12 games in the last 23 days, the Jackals have played the third fewest games in the conference at 59.
