The Jackals are facing the Royals tonight for the 11th of 16 meetings this season and the fifth of eight at Sovereign Center. They outscored Reading 4-0 in the third period in their most recent trip here for a 5-2 win, then stormed back from 4-1 for a 6-4 win in Elmira last week. The Royals carry the league's fourth best defense at 2.65 goals per game but the Jackals have been able to average 3.2 goals per game against Reading this season.

Jackals goalie Marc Cheverie set a Jackals ECHL record with his third shutout of the season last Sunday against Wheeling. The win was his third in a row and has him positioned for a strong finish to the season. He has made a habit of playing well in the final months of the season since turning pro. His combined record in January, March, and February over the last two years is 10-4-1. Last year was particularly notable as Cheverie went 7-2-0 from January to March with the Gwinnett Gladiators.
